THREE EASY TIPS
1) Create a Clear Focal Point.
Every room should have one main visual anchor. It naturally draws the eye and makes the space feel intentional.
Living room: a fireplace, large artwork, or statement sofa.
Bedroom: an upholstered headboard.
Dining room: a bold light fixture.
If you don’t have a built-in focal point, create one with oversized art, a feature wall, or dramatic lighting.
2) Layer Your Lighting.
Relying on one overhead light makes a space feel flat. Instead, combine three types:
Ambient lighting (ceiling fixtures or recessed lights).
Task lighting (desk lamps, under-cabinet lights).
Accent lighting (wall sconces, picture lights, LED strips).
This adds depth, warmth, and flexibility for different moods.
3) Use the 60–30–10 Color Rule.
This classic rule keeps rooms balanced and cohesive:
60% dominant color (walls, large furniture).
30% secondary color (rugs, curtains, accent chairs).
10% accent color (pillows, art, decor).
It prevents a room from feeling chaotic while still adding personality.
